Hypothesis
Organizers feel ability to participate or not in strike on Friday.
Design
- Nat gives their staff the day off on Friday.
- Go to the directors team to bring day off for the day off on Friday, the day of general strike.
Metrics
Success:
- All organizers take the day off, show that it is possible to disconnect from work. Not getting an email or text from organizers on Friday. Radio Silence for a day.
- Utmost respect for their time and the work they have put in. Brown and Black organizers. Honor themselves to not only survive and get our organization to a place where we can have honest and open conversations about race.
- Nat feels their leadership is respected in decision and culture is changing away from overwork. Boundary is respected.
Learnings
- Trust self more when approaching larger director team with proposals/decisions.
- As an organizing team, our culture is still developing, Nat started a week before Shelter in Place.
- Pushback or resistance to Nat’s leadership isn’t a bad thing but an opportunity to communicate and learn and understand what is important to do as a team.
